Veneta
 Hello, dancers of the world!

My name is Veneta and I am originally from Bulgaria, a small, lovely South European country. I am currently living and working in Germany – a land of punctuality and beer.

My dance experience starts from the age of 7 when I was attending classical ballet classes back home in Bulgaria. My dance teacher was extremely versatile, so with time we moved on to learning modern/contemporary dance as well. I was a part of that group for about 9 years. I graduated High school at the age of 16 and once in university, I decided to expand my horizons, so I joined an Oriental Dance Club. The main focus there was on Turkish and Egyptian belly dance. Over time, I became the club’s leader. I teach belly dance to a versatile group of dancers – from complete beginners to advanced level. In my class I combine a mixture of belly dance with several types of work-out routines, depending on the level of the class. Nevertheless, everything is backed-up with a heavy backbone of ballet exercises. So far with this group, I have choreographed and directed four 1 hour long oriental dance shows, some of which also have a heavy tribal fusion influence. Alongside this oriental experience, I have been developing and participating in a contemporary dance team. This team has a focus on advanced level dancers only and we have produced two dance and visual performances. In these shows we incorporated interactive media which allowed the dancers themselves to generate visual backgrounds via their movement.

Looking For Music?
The art of movement and the art of sound – inseparable brother and sister, aiding and feeding each other with meaning. The sound of music has been a trigger for creating movement since the dawn of humankind. No one really knows how come hear certain beats urges humans to dance. Some say that it is a primitive emotion – people are attracted to good dancers because they are physically fit to be a proper mating partner, so dance serves as a way to showcase the ability of our bodies. Regardless of whether this is true or not, one thing is for sure - dance evolved together with our ever-developing brains into something much deeper. It evolved together with our search for expression and together with our need to not only communicate with others, but also with ourselves.
